Muonionalusta-type meteorites originate from a meteorite that struck northern Scandinavia, west of the Swedish-Finnish border, around a million years BC. Since landing on Earth, the meteorite has experienced four ice ages. It is mainly composed of iron (Fe) with traces of nickel (Ni) and some rare elements. The crystal patterns of meteorites are known as "Windmanstatten patterns".
