Tsavorite garnet
$250
Tsavorite garnets were discovered by British geologist Campbell R. Bridges in 1967 and referenced by Harry Platt of Tiffany & Company (New York) who immediately recognized its potential due to its gemological pedigree. He named it after the Tsavo Game Reserve in Kenya, the region of his discovery. Although these garnets are found in both Tanzania, Kenya, and Madagascar, the finest, purest green-hued tsavorite garnets are most commonly found from Tsavo, Kenya. Tsavorite garnets are a bright green that approximates the color of emerald.
