Rock crystal is the colorless variety of crystalline quartz ; it does not contain any coloring element in impurity. However, it can present various inclusions giving it a multitude of fascinating appearances.
In this case the presence of oxidized iron (Fe) gives rise to warm and vivid colors in shades of red, orange and yellow. The texture is reminiscent of drops of ink in contact with water.
